AZSPLM300D diesel flat die pellet mill is an ideal pellet making machine for people who want to save cost on making pellets, or for people who do not have easy access to electricity where they produce pellets (like on their farms). This machine is composed of clutch assembly, gear box, main spindle box, roller, flat die, upper body, feeder, diesel engine and base. It can process various kinds of biomass wastes into quality fuel pellets and process grains into feed pellets in small scale.

Factors affecting pellet quality

1. Material
Moisture content: for different kinds of raw materials, the moisture contents are different. Usually we require sawdust with a moisture content of 10%-18%.
Particle size: the length of the material can not exceed the diameter of the die hole. For example, if the diameter of the die hole was 6mm, the length of the sawdust could not be longer than 6mm. Please ensure the right size of raw material according to the diameter of the die hole.
2. Gap between die and rollers
The gap between die and rollers has great influence on pellet quality. The gap between 0.1mm and 0.3mm shows the best performance. But the gap should be adjusted for processing of different materials. When the gap is over 0.3m, the capacity will be reduced; while the gap is less than 0.1mm, the service life of die and roller will be reduced.

Solutions to problems caused during pelleting

1. Pelleting failed
Reason: (a) A new pellet machine should go though grinding-in. Insufficient grinding-in of the machine may be the cause of failed pelleting; (b) The materials are of too much moisture may also cause failed pelleting.
Solution: For condition (a), clear the materials out of the machine first, and then use oil mixture to make the die go through grinding-in; For condition (b), adjust the materials' moisture content (by placing them in the sun or by wind).
2. Pellets are too soft or powdery
Reason: (a) The materials are too dry; (b) The die is worn.
Solution: For condition (a), add appropriate amount of water to the materials; For condition (b), replace the worn die.
3. Roller soon damaged
Reason: (a) The machine still runs without feeding materials; (b) Entering of impurities like iron, stone, sands, or metal into the materials
Solution: For condition (a), operator should input materials into the machine in time, and make sure that the machine runs with materials in it; For condition (b), operator should shut down the machine and then get rid of the impurities.
